A registration form for all eligible candidates is available on our website.  Canadian candidates must apply to the National Examining Board (NEB) of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) in Ottawa, Ontario.

1.   Graduate – Canadian Colleges

      An applicant who is a graduate of a Canadian college of veterinary medicine may register to take the NAVLE by submitting the following to the Registrar of the NEB:

a)       A completed registration form to sit the NAVLE during a particular testing window;

b)      A notarised copy of their degree certificate;

c)       One (1) recent passport size photograph, signed and dated by the applicant;

d)      The appropriate Examination fee.

Graduates and Final Year Students of Canadian Veterinary Colleges

  • An applicant who is a graduate or final year student of a Canadian college of veterinary medicine may register to take the NAVLE by

...

a)   Complete the online registration form (found on CVMA website) to sit the NAVLE (final year students must be within ten months of their expected graduation date by the end of the testing window);

b)   A statement from the Dean of the college that the student is a bona fide member of the final year class (note that in most cases a collective list sent by the Dean of the college will be considered satisfactory);

c)   The appropriate Examination fee.

3.   Graduate or Final Year Student – non-Canadian Schools

Graduates and Final Year Students of International-Accredited and International Non-Accredited Schools

  • International-accredited school candidates who have received approval of their NEB registration can access the online registration form for the NAVLE once the registration window opens.
  • International non-accredited school candidates who have been granted eligibility to register for the examination (ie have passed the BCSE) can access the online registration form once the registration window opens.

A final year student must be within ten months of their expected graduation date by the end of the testing window. The applicant may register for the NAVLE by submitting:a)  

  • The completed registration form
